My 1st Passion (beside my two girls):
DOGS. I believe having a passion that goes beyond work and school is extremely beneficial to our happiness and our spirits. Do you have a passion? It can be drawing, sports, dancing, playing an instrument, reading, volunteering at a shelter. The list is endless. If you don't - find one! It will bring you joy, fulfilment and a zest for life.

My passion for animals and especially dogs lead me to volunteer at the SPCA on Decarie.
The SPCA is a nonprofit organisation that takes in nearly 14,000 homeless animals every year. Their mission is to protect animals against human cruelty, abuse and exploitation.
When I began my training I could not believe the vast number of species that the SPCA is helping and rehabilitating. There are rabbits, cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea-pigs, ferrets, rats, mice, birds, chinchillas, gerbils and more. And don't, for one second believe, they are all healthy and ready to be adopted. They are not. Some animals are found roaming the streets, scavenging for food & water. Some are abandoned by their "so called" owners. Some are neglected, under nourished, dirty and diseased. While others are used for mass breeding, otherwise known as "puppy mill dogs". The most difficult thing I had to overcome is simply being exposed to all of this animal suffering. The sights are depressing, overwhelming and never ending. But I will say this ... extremely rewarding! The SPCA has a team of veterinarians, technicians, and various employees that shelter, clean, nurture and provide medical care for those animals in need. They are attentive to their needs and only want each animal to find a loving, peaceful and safe home.
The following before and after pictures are some extraordinary examples of what great work SPCAs do all over the world. Be warned...they are graphic in nature. But all HAPPY ENDINGS.
